When Dorchester Paws reached out to bring us on board for a collaborative calendar project with Summerville Medical Center, we knew it was going to be a unique day. The goal was simple: bridge the world of the hospital with the work of the rescue, capturing the best sides of both.
We started by setting up a full studio in one of the hospital rooms. It was a shift from our usual environment—navigating the hospital space with a full kit—but the team and the animals handled the change of pace perfectly. Once we had our indoor portraits dialed in, we moved outdoors to use the hospital grounds. We wrapped up the day with a session that ended up being the cover shot: a rescue resident paired with one of the Summerville Medical Center ambulances.

The best part of the day wasn't the setup or the gear. It was watching the hospital staff take a breather from their high-stakes work to connect with these dogs and cats. Seeing them step away from the stress of the hospital to share a moment with a rescue animal turned what could have been a standard photo session into a genuine community moment.
Being brought in by Dorchester Paws to lead the creative side of this fundraiser was a privilege. We were able to deliver a finished set of images that didn't just fill a calendar page—they told the story of a community coming together. It’s exactly the kind of mission-driven project we love to be part of, and it remains a highlight in our history of community work.
