November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and we photographed some amazing seniors from
Dorchester Paws! Some of these babies have already found their forever homes, but there are always seniors in need!
Pets labeled as senior sometimes get overlooked, but they're so much more than their age—they’re vibrant and made of 100% soul mate material. Open your heart to an experienced dog, or cat and you won’t regret it!
This girl is so beautiful and sweet! If we didn't have 5 dogs, including a senior <3 "Gloria is a 7 year old hound. She is sweet, social, and loves to engage other dogs in the play yard. She has a gentle and dainty play style."
"Prudence is a 7 year old terrier mix who is looking for a place to rest. She is shy and does take some time to warm up to new people. She loves to be outside in the yard and enjoys treats! She would do best as the only pet in her home as she does not like to share her food with other animals, but can do well with other low energy dogs. She would not be a good fir if you have cats."
"Muriel is a 12 year old beagle who came to is in October after being found as a stray. She did have a hernia that required minor surgery to repair and she is currently being monitored for recovery by our veterinary team."
"An 11 year old terrier mix who has been searching for his forever home since August! Grandpa Joe came to us in sad shape. His teeth were ground down and he was covered in a skin infection so badly that it actually formed masses on his body. Grandpa Joe has since had his masses removed and his skin has cleared up beautifully and most of his hair has grown back! This sweet senior just wants affection and loves to cuddle! He would do best in a home with no young children or other pets."
A 9 year old Shih Tzu. She ended up at the shelter after her owner passed away and has been scared and confused ever since. She received a full spa day thanks to Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Summerville! She has some vision loss but that doesn't slow her down!
"Gracie, first of all have you ever seen ears more cute than this?! She is a 7 year old German Shepard Mix that originally came to our shelter as a puppy and recently returned as a stray. She loves walks and playing, and does not act or look a day over 3! Gracie knows basic commands and would be the perfect dog for any family!"
"Morrison is a 9 year old Labrador who weighs 72 lbs. He has been searching for his forever home since September. He previously had a rescue lined up, but it fell through due to transportation. We don't want this sweet senior to have to wait at the shelter any longer! Morrison does great with other dogs and has a gentle and dainty play style. He does have arthritis but that does not stop him from saying hi to every person he meets!"
