We’d like to extend a huge thank you to The Salty Dog Cafe Bluffton for partnering with us to help showcase so many of the incredible dogs at Lovable Paws Rescue. This hardworking rescue gives dogs in need a safe place to land, and thanks to the support of The Salty Dog, more people are seeing just how special these pups truly are. Their partnership has helped bring these deserving dogs into the spotlight through photography and shared awareness. On top of that, they ran a generous fundraiser this March—and delivered a whole truckload of much-needed supplies. We’re incredibly grateful for their compassion, community spirit, and dedication to helping animals in need.
From teacups to titans and everything in between, Lovable Paws Rescue is home to an unforgettable crew of adoptable dogs—and we had the pleasure of spending a beautiful day getting to know them. The 80ish-mile trip was worth every minute, even if things started off a little... chaotic. Rescue life is nonstop, and we totally understand! We showed up ready to roll with it—and by just letting the dogs be dogs, the energy shifted. By the end of the day, we were all smiling, swapping stories, and working together toward the same mission: giving these pups their best shot at finding a loving home.
A big thank you to Mike and the team at The Salty Dog Cafe Bluffton for being there with open hearts and grabbing behind the scenes for us! Not only did they help make this connection happen, but they showed up in person, pitched in, and helped us highlight these incredible dogs. We’re also so thankful to Steve, Missy, and the rest of the Lovable Paws crew for making space for us during their already-packed day. The photos, the laughs, the teamwork—it was all worth it.
And while we met a ton of amazing dogs, there are so many more we didn’t get to showcase here. Be sure to visit Lovable Paws Rescue’s website or stop by the farm to meet the rest of the gang. Your new best friend might be waiting there!
Now, meet the stars of the day—the dogs of Lovable Paws Rescue...
Hi. I’m Farah. And I’m learning how to be safe again.
I don’t remember how I ended up alone in the woods—but I do remember what it felt like. Cold nights, growling stomach, every sound making me jump. I had no one. No leash, no bowl, no kind voice calling my name.
Until one day, someone did call me. And now I’m here at Lovable Paws, slowly filling back out, letting people help me, and figuring out what it means to be loved.
I’m about 3 years old and only 18 pounds—small enough to fit on your lap, big enough to hold a whole lot of heart. I get along well with other dogs and I’m great with kids. I haven’t met any cats yet, but we could test that out if needed.
To be honest, I’m still a bit of a mystery. I’m housetrained, spayed, vaccinated, and very polite... but I’m still unfolding. Still becoming who I’m meant to be. All I know is that I really want someone patient, someone gentle, and someone who sees how special I could be with just a little time and trust.
Come meet me on a Friday (11–1) or Saturday (10–3). I might be shy at first, but I promise—I’m worth the wait.
Hi, I’m Phantom. I’m looking for a new home.
My world was once full of love with my person, but they’ve gone into hospice, and now I need a new forever home. I may be small—just 12 pounds—but my heart is full of love to give. I’m 6 years old, housetrained, and neutered, ready to settle into a peaceful home where I can feel safe and cherished again.
I’m great with dogs and I’m always up for a good cuddle. Kids and cats? I’m not sure, but I’m willing to give it a try if we need to test it out.
All I really want is a home where I can relax, feel loved, and enjoy the rest of my years with someone special. If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet companion, I might just be the one for you.
Come meet me soon—maybe I’ll be the missing piece to your heart.
Hi, I’m Ronnie! I may be a little older, but I’m all about the love.
I’m a small 12-pound bundle of joy, just waiting for a lap to sit in. I might be 4 years old, but I’m young at heart and absolutely love attention. If you’ve got a spot on the couch, I’ve got the perfect cuddles for you.
I’m great with kids, housetrained, and spayed. I get along with other dogs, but cats? Not sure about them yet. I’m still figuring out a few things, but I’m easy to love and eager to find my forever home.
Hey, I’m Sylvester – and I’ve got a story to tell.
Not long ago, I didn’t know what it felt like to be comfortable in my own skin—literally. I showed up at Lovable Paws Rescue in pretty rough shape. My skin was raw, itchy, and scabby, and I felt miserable. Every step stung, every inch itched, and I didn’t know if anyone would ever see past the pain to the pup underneath.
But guess what? They did.
The humans here didn’t flinch. They got to work—baths, meds, food, love, repeat. And slowly, my body healed. My tail started wagging again. My eyes got their sparkle back. My goofy side came out, and turns out? I’m kind of a sweetheart.
Now I’m 3 years old, a solid 45 pounds of happy, healthy, and very ready to trade shelter life for couch snuggles, backyard zoomies, and maybe even a pup cup or two.
I’ve been waiting here a while. Almost two years, actually. I try not to take it personally—but I do sometimes wonder what it’ll feel like to hear “Welcome home, buddy.” I dream about it a lot.
I get along great with the other dogs here (but if you’ve already got one, a meet-and-greet is a good idea—just to be sure we vibe). I’m not sure about cats or kids, but I’m housetrained, neutered, and up to date on all the pokey vet stuff.
So, if you’re the kind of person who sees potential where others might’ve missed it... if you believe in second chances and the magic of a fresh start... maybe come meet me. My name’s Sylvester, and I’ve got a lot of love left to give.
Let’s not make it another year.
Hey there, I’m Hayden.
And I’ve been waiting for you.
I’m not sure how long you’ve been looking for your new best friend—but I’ve been looking for almost seven years now. I’ve got the heart of a loyal sidekick, the soul of an old friend, and I’m more than ready for a soft bed, a steady routine, and a person who thinks I’m the greatest thing since peanut butter.
I’m a solid 50 pounds of love and life experience. Housetrained? You bet. Good with kids? Yep. I’ve got some wisdom under my collar, but don’t think that means I’m boring. I still get the zoomies. I still love a good sniffari. And if you scratch the right spot behind my ears? You’ll unlock maximum tail wags.
I’m not totally sure how I feel about other dogs or cats just yet—we’d probably need to take that slow—but I’m open-minded. Mostly, I’m just hoping someone will give me the same chance they’d give a brand-new puppy. Because while I may be a little older, my heart is just as ready.
So... what do you say? Want to come meet me? I’ll be the one with the soft eyes, wagging tail, and the quiet hope that today might be the day I finally get to go home.
Hi! I’m April, and I’m made of 45 pounds of love, wiggles, and potential.
If you're looking for a dog who adores people, you just found her. All I want—truly—is to love and be loved right back. I’m still a young girl (not even two yet!), and while I’ve got a good heart, I’m still figuring out some of the finer points of dog life... like, “don’t jump on people just because you’re excited” and “sitting politely gets you more treats.”
But here’s the thing: I’m trying. I really am. I just need someone patient and kind who will help me learn the ropes. Someone who sees that underneath the occasional chaos is a truly great dog ready to be even greater.
I’m housetrained, spayed, up-to-date on my shots, and I get along with other dogs. I’m great with kids, too (though I might knock over a little one if I get too excited—oops). Cats? Not sure yet. I haven’t officially been introduced.
If you want to really get to know me, the best way is to come say hello! You can find me at Lovable Paws Rescue on Fridays from 11 to 1 or Saturdays from 10 to 3. I’ll be the one wagging my whole body the second you walk in.
I’ve got so much love to give—I just need someone to give it to.
They call me Blue, but I’m really more of a black-and-tan snack.
Born here, adopted, and surprise! I’m back. Apparently, I'm sweet as pie, ridiculously photogenic (duh), and full of personality in a fun-size package. I’m about 4 years old, which is basically peak perfection. I like treats, snuggles, and standing on high ground to feel majestic.
I’m just looking for a human who won't boomerang me back. Cool?
They call me Arrow.
And yeah... it’s not just a name.
I came into Lovable Paws with an actual arrow lodged in my side. I don’t remember much from that day—just pain, confusion, and the sinking feeling that maybe the world wasn’t safe for dogs like me.
But then something incredible happened: I got help. Real help. The kind that comes with gentle hands, warm voices, and the promise that things would get better. And they did.
While I was healing, I surprised everyone (and honestly, myself) by giving birth to nine puppies. NINE. I raised them with every bit of strength I had left. Two of them are still looking for homes, just like me.
Now I’m almost 5 years old, around 50 pounds, housetrained, sweet as sugar, and dreaming about what it might feel like to finally just... rest. Not just physically, but emotionally. I want to curl up next to someone I trust and know I’m home for good.
I get along well with other dogs, and I’m spayed, vaccinated, and ready for the next chapter. I’m not sure about cats or kids yet, but I am sure that I’ve still got so much love to give.
Some kind soul has even sponsored part of my adoption fee. Maybe they saw the light in me. Maybe you will too.
Come meet me. I’m Arrow—and I’ve taken enough hits from life. I’m ready for love now.
Hi! We’re Clint and Emily—two siblings, two goofballs, two hearts looking for home.
We were born at the rescue while our brave mom, Arrow, was recovering from a very scary injury. She’s our hero, and she’s still waiting for her forever family too (seriously, go read her story—it’s wild).
We’re about a year and a half old now—past the puppy chaos, but still full of fun. Around 35 pounds each, housetrained, and good with other dogs. We haven’t been around cats or kids much, so we’d have to get to know them first, but we’re open to the idea. We’re both spayed/neutered, fully vetted, and ready to start our next chapter.
Even though we’ve grown up in rescue, we know there’s more out there. Things like couch snuggles, leash walks, kitchen-floor snacks, and best friends who talk to us like we’re people (we love that).
We don’t have to be adopted together—we just want someone to see us. Really see us. We've got big hearts and even bigger potential, and we’re so ready to bring joy to someone’s life.
Come visit us this weekend. We’ll be the ones grinning at you like, “Is it finally our turn?”
Well hello there, I'm Josh—and yes, I am as charming as I look.
I may have been found wandering the streets, but don’t let that fool you—I’m a refined gentleman at heart. Think bow tie energy in a 14-pound body.
I'm about 5 years old, fully vetted, housetrained, and I've never met a human I didn’t adore. Kids? Love 'em. Dogs? Great. Cats? No complaints here. Basically, I’m your go-anywhere, love-everyone kind of guy.
People keep calling me a sweetheart, and I guess that’s true. I like a good cuddle, a gentle walk, and maybe a cozy spot on the back of the couch where I can supervise your day. I don’t ask for much—just a soft bed, some kind words, and a place to finally call home.
If you’re into sweet faces, gentle souls, and dogs who will absolutely win over your friends... I'm your guy. Stop by Lovable Paws and say hi. I’ll be the one politely wagging my tail, hoping today is the day my forever begins.
Hey there, I’m Peach!
I might not have a long backstory, but I’ve got plenty of love to give. I’m a small, 25-pound bundle of sweetness and joy, and I’m just over a year old. I’m housetrained, spayed, and ready to find my perfect family.
I get along with other dogs and kids (I mean, who doesn’t love a good snuggle?). Cats? I’m not sure yet, but I’m open to meeting them if you are.
I’m the kind of girl who enjoys the simple things—cuddles, treats, and maybe a good walk to explore new smells. I’ve got a gentle, sweet spirit, and all I’m looking for is a family that will love me back just as much as I love them.
Come meet me soon! I might be small, but my heart is as big as they come.
Hello! I’m Plum, and I’m still figuring things out.
I’m a 1-year-old, 25-pound cutie with a lot of love to give. I’m a little bit of a mystery at the moment—still learning about me and what makes me tick—but I know one thing for sure: I’m looking for a home where I can feel safe, loved, and cherished.
I get along well with other dogs and kids, and I’m housetrained and spayed. Cats? Not sure about them just yet, but we can always give that a try. I’m still figuring out the world, but I’m all about finding my special someone who will help me along the way.
Come visit me on Fridays (11–1) or Saturdays (10–3) to get to know me better. I can’t wait to show you just how sweet I can be!
Hi, I’m Sadie, and I’m as sweet as can be!
At just 9 months old, I’m still learning the ropes, but I’m already a bundle of joy. I’m a medium-sized girl at 40 pounds, and I’m full of love to give! I’m great with kids and other dogs, but I’ll admit—I still need a little leash training to be my best self on walks. With some guidance, I’ll make an absolutely fabulous dog for the right person or family.
I’m housetrained and spayed, and while I’m still figuring out the world, I’m ready to start a new chapter with someone who can teach me the things I need to know.
Hi there, I’m Stella—a small dog with big dreams.
I don’t have a long backstory to share (yet), but what I do know is that I’m really good at being a sweet companion. I’m housetrained (no embarrassing accidents here), I get along great with other dogs, and I love kiddos too! I haven’t officially met a cat, but I’d be willing to give it a try if you’ve got one.
Right now, I’m just waiting patiently for someone to say, “She’s the one.” You don’t have to be perfect. You just need to have a little space in your home (and heart) for a dog who wants to love you unconditionally.
I’d love to meet you—come say hi on a Friday (11–1) or Saturday (10–3). You bring the treats, I’ll bring the tail wags.
Hi, I’m Susie, and I’ve got two great loves in this world: laps and splashing in water bowls.
Seriously—give me a bowl of water and five seconds alone, and I’ll turn it into my personal splash pad. But don’t worry, I clean up cute. And when I’m not soaking wet, I’m usually trying to climb into your lap because that’s clearly where I belong.
I’m a petite little lady at just 15 pounds, perfectly lap-sized, housetrained, and great with other dogs and kids. I haven’t met a cat yet, but I’m open to negotiations.
If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly silly girl who will make you laugh and melt your heart all at once—I’m right here waiting.
Come visit me Friday from 11–1 or Saturday from 10–3. I’ll be the one trying to sit in your lap before you even sit down.
Hi, I’m Lightning!
I’m around 3 years and 8 months old and weigh about 45 pounds. I showed up here recently, so everyone’s still getting to know me—but so far, I’ve been a good boy. I’m housetrained, get along with other dogs, and I’m great with kids. I’m also neutered and up to date on my shots. No one’s quite sure about cats yet, but we can figure that out together. If you’ve got room in your life for a handsome new buddy, I’d love to meet you. Come visit me on a Friday or Saturday—I’ll be waiting.
I’m Reynold, and I’m full of energy and adventure!
I came in as a stray, and unfortunately, my family didn’t come looking for me. Now I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m about 3 years old and weigh 35 pounds. I’ve got plenty of energy to keep up with your outdoor adventures—if you love to run, hike, or just stay active, I’ll be right by your side! I’m housetrained, neutered, and up to date on my shots. I get along well with other dogs, though I’m still figuring out how I feel about cats. Come visit me, and let’s see if we make the perfect team!
I'm Spirit, and I might be the toughest cookie with the softest heart you’ll ever meet! I came into Lovable Paws as a stray in pretty rough shape, but I didn’t let that stop me. With some TLC and farm life healing, I bounced back and now I’m living my best life—just missing one thing: a forever home. I’m sweet, fun, and totally ready to love someone who sees how awesome I am. Could it be you?
I'm Scout, and I’m pretty much the king of chill—and also the king of cuddles! I’m all about hanging with my people and enjoying the simple things in life, like a cozy couch and some good company. I get along great with my fellow doggie pals here at the rescue, but what I’d really love is a forever home where I can be your loyal little sidekick. Sound like a plan?
I’m Petra, a two-year-old heart-stealer with a soft soul and a curious spirit.
I might start off a little shy, but give me a minute (and maybe a snack), and you’ll see my tail start to wag like crazy. I love sunshine, sniffing the breeze, and discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place—especially with a kind human by my side.
If you’re patient and gentle, I’ll be your most loyal little adventure buddy. Let’s take on life together, yeah?
Hi, I’m Snowflake!
I might have a cool name, but I’m all warm snuggles and happy tail wags. I’m about a year and a half old, and if you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly sidekick with a heart full of love—I’m your boy.
I can be a little shy at first, but give me a moment and I’ll be leaning into you like we’ve been best friends forever. I love life, love people, and can’t wait to find a home where I can finally relax and just be loved.
Wanna come meet me? I’ll be the white blur running toward you with hope in my eyes and a goofy grin.
Hi. I’m Pickett. Once upon a time, I was rescued from a hoarding situation. Then I got adopted, thought I’d found my forever. But a year ago, I came back. No sob stories, just facts. Life doesn’t always go as planned. But here’s the thing: I’m still standing, still sweet, still so ready for that true happily ever after.
I’m a little reserved at first, but once I trust you, I’m all in. I've got a face that says, “Yes, I have seen things… but I still believe in love.”
Ready to write my next chapter with you? Swing by Lovable Paws Rescue—Fridays 11–1 or Saturdays 10–3. I’ll be here, waiting. Patiently.
If the difference between a shelter and a rescue is a bit unclear, this article is a great place to start! While it doesn't cover rescue-to-rescue transfers, it does a fantastic job explaining the unique roles and importance of both. All of the dogs featured on this page are currently in the care of rescue organizations!
And before I go, if you’re someone—individual or business—who’s interested in supporting our mission to photograph 1,000 adoptable animals in 2025, I’d love to hear from you! Your sponsorship can help make a real impact and bring even more attention to these deserving pets who are waiting for their forever homes. Let’s work together to help them find the love they deserve!
